Experience: Julie Wilson has been spinning fiber into yarn since 1990, teaching at NYSW 2010-2016, Teaching at SAFF since 1993, teaching at Haywood Community College since 2012, Carolina Fiber Festival and Blue Ridge Fiber Fair.
Julie and her family own a farm in Fines Creek, NC. In 1990, two sheep came to the Wilson family. Since then, Jehovah Raah Farm (FB), has grown to raise Shetland sheep, Alpacas, Llamas, Angora Goats, Rabbits, and Scottish Highland Cattle. They have a cottage on the farm, called ‘The Shepherd’s Croft, available for folks to experience ‘real’ farm life. Julie has been spinning since 1990 and has retired from 30 years teaching high school Special Education. She has taught Beginning Spinning at SAFF and she has been with NYSW since 2010. Julie will drop everything and meet anyone anywhere to teach them to spin! Julie is a Lendrum Spinning Wheel dealer.
